Ceili Pelting (marked Kay-lee) was formed in 1995 by veteran soldier songster Bob Halligan, Jr. The Syracuse, N.Y native had been thought conceptually virtually combining Celtic language instrumentality within a pop-rock scene since 1989, and had received encouragement from his married adult female Linda to move forth with the idea. Formerly, he had written songs that had been recorded by heavy alloy artists such as Judas Priest and Blue sky Oyster Cultus, simply was uncomfortable of the association with negatively sensed artists. He had besides written with Michael Bolton, and had his songs recorded by such diverse artists as Cher, Kathy Mattea, and Joan Jett.
Halligan also recorded a solo record album in 1991 that went nowhere on the charts. By 1995, Halligan had stirred from Freshly House of York to Capital of Tennessee, finding the atmospheric nation in that respect more suitable to what he was pursuing. Wanting to deepen the Celtic language influences that he had grown to like with his self-colored sway songwriting skills, Halligan formed Ceili Rain. (loosely translated in Goidelic as "celestial party") They honed their skills in concerts, and finally mark with the independent label Punch Records. The 1997 record album combined uplifting spectral messages, Celtic John Rock influences, solid pop-rock songwriting skills, and received warm reviews from many publications, including Hoarding.
